90 PC's are hit with error "stop 0xC0000218 registry cannot load hive file" at the same time. All but 10 of these PCs were frozen with Deep Freeze. The PCs are the same model. There are 2000+ PCs on out network, but the 90 (same model) were the only ones hit. Any ideas of what caused this problem?1 person needs an answerI do too

This is not a server problem. These PCs are in a lab enviroment, three different labs in three different buildings. All the PCs recieved the same error message at the same time, all running windows xp. The PCs are not connected to a server. AD is not installed. Thanks for the post and i have read the support article from micrsoft. The question I have is why all 90 PCs had the same problem at the same time when 2000+ PCs on the same network was not affected. The only similiarity in the 90 PCs is that they are the same model, separate from the other 2000+ PCs. We have discovered that the problem is a corrupt \windows\system32\config\software file. How is it that these PCs all corrupted this file at the same time. Remember the PCs has Deep Freeze installed, if that matters. Thanks,
